17. GARMIN INTERACTION
If you choose to connect your Garmin account, AscendTrail integrates with Garmin Connect in two ways: to receive your completed activities, and to send your planned training sessions to your Garmin Connect calendar so they appear on your Garmin device.
Garmin data we collect and store:
- Activity data (Garmin Activity API): With your permission, Garmin Connect sends us your completed activities. For each activity we collect and store the activity summary and detail samples, which may include date and time, activity type, duration, distance, pace/speed, heart rate, elevation, and GPS location data (route/coordinates). We use this data to score your training load, track your progress, and continuously adapt your personalized training plan.
- Connection data: the Garmin authorization tokens issued when you connect and your Garmin account identifier, used only to maintain the connection and to create, update, and remove the workouts we send on your behalf.
How it is processed and shared: Garmin data is associated with your individual AscendTrail account and is processed only by AscendTrail to provide these features. It is used solely to deliver your own training — we do not aggregate or anonymize it across users. It is never sold, shared with third parties, or sent to any third-party or artificial-intelligence/data-processing service.
Retention and removal: you can disconnect Garmin at any time in the app, or revoke access from your Garmin account. On disconnection or deregistration we stop receiving new activity data, delete the stored Garmin tokens and activity data, and remove the workouts we created in your Garmin Connect calendar. We honor Garmin's User Deregistration and User Permission Change notifications.
We will not change how Garmin data is used without updating this policy and obtaining Garmin's prior written approval.
